Where Pererenan's Village Energy Meets Considered Comfort
Apartment 1-3 at The R Apartment Pererenan sits along Jl. Pantai Pererenan, one of the quieter lanes threading through this rapidly beloved corner of Bali. At 48 square metres, the space is compact but deliberately so — clean lines, light-coloured walls, and a layout that keeps indoor and outdoor living in constant conversation. The plunge pool anchors the outdoor area, framed by a garden and outdoor seating that invite long afternoons with nothing on the agenda.

Inside, the apartment is finished with practicality and ease in mind. The kitchen is fully outfitted with a stove, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker, fridge, and freezer, so guests who want to cook — whether that means a morning pour-over or a full evening meal — have everything at hand, including pots, pans, crockery, and wine glasses. A safe box, ample closet and drawer storage, and air conditioning throughout the living and sleeping areas make it straightforward to settle in for an extended stay.
Pererenan itself has changed considerably over the past few years. Once overshadowed by its neighbour Canggu, it has found its own identity — a mix of working rice fields, surf-friendly beach, local warungs, and a growing collection of low-key cafes and creative studios. The apartment sits within easy reach of the main beach road while remaining shielded from the busiest foot traffic, accessed via a private entrance that keeps arrivals and departures on your own terms.
Guests are welcomed with check-in from 15:00 and check-out by 10:00. The property accommodates up to 3 guests and operates under clear house rules that keep the environment respectful for neighbours and fellow residents alike. Parking is available on the premises at no additional cost. Pets are not permitted at this property.
A 48m² apartment in Pererenan, Bali — plunge pool, private garden, and a fully equipped interior designed for stays that feel like more than just a stopover.
The bedroom is fitted with air conditioning and generous closet and drawer storage. A personal safe box keeps valuables secure, and linens are provided fresh for each stay. Calm and uncluttered.
A relaxed open living area with television, comfortable seating, and air conditioning. The layout flows naturally toward the kitchen and out to the garden, keeping the apartment feeling open despite its compact footprint.
Stocked with a stove, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker, fridge, freezer, wine glasses, pots, pans, crockery, and cutlery. Everything in place for a simple breakfast or a proper evening meal.
A full bathroom with bathtub and hot water, supplied with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a hair dryer. Towels are provided and refreshed between stays. Clean, functional, and well-stocked.
The private plunge pool sits within a small garden, shaded in the afternoon by surrounding greenery. Outdoor seating makes this the natural anchor for the day — morning coffee, afternoon swim, evening air.
You arrive in the mid-afternoon, stepping through the private entrance as the Balinese heat begins to soften. The apartment is cool — air conditioning already doing its quiet work — and the garden is bathed in the late golden light that Pererenan does so well. You drop your bags, find your bearings, and within twenty minutes you are in the plunge pool, the day's travel dissolving with it.
Mornings start at your own pace. The coffee maker is the first thing you reach for. While it runs, you open the doors to the outdoor seating area and let in the garden air. Breakfast comes from whatever you picked up at the market the evening before — the kitchen handles it all, from the blender for a papaya smoothie to the toaster for something simpler. There is no rush; check-out is not until 10:00, so the morning genuinely belongs to you.
By mid-morning, Pererenan beach is a short ride away. The surf here draws a local crowd and a handful of regular visitors who have learned to come back to the same spot. You spend a few hours between the water and the shore, then find a warung on the way back for a late lunch that costs almost nothing and tastes like everything.
Afternoons back at the apartment are for the pool and the outdoor seating, for reading, for doing very little with great intention. When evening arrives, the neighbourhood comes alive in a low-key way — lights on at the cafes, the smell of incense from nearby offerings, the distant sound of motorbikes settling into the evening rhythm. You cook in, open the wine glasses, and let Pererenan carry the rest of the night.

5 minutes by foot
A quieter stretch of black-sand shore popular with intermediate surfers. Less crowded than Canggu's Echo Beach, with reliable morning swells and a relaxed atmosphere.

15 minutes by scooter
A traditional Balinese market where locals shop for fruit, vegetables, and prepared food each morning. The best time to go is before 8am, when produce is freshest.

10 minutes by scooter
A well-known open-air venue on Batu Bolong beach in Canggu with a direct view of the surf. Serves food and drinks from mid-morning through late evening.

20 minutes by scooter
One of Bali's most recognised sea temples, built on a coastal rock formation. Sunset visits are particularly atmospheric, with the temple silhouetted against the western sky.
Once bypassed in favour of Seminyak or central Canggu, Pererenan has developed a character of its own — rice fields, a surf-friendly beach, and a village rhythm that other parts of Bali's west coast have largely left behind.
With a fully equipped kitchen and a morning market within scooter distance, cooking your own meals in Bali is one of the most rewarding ways to spend time here. A guide to what to look for and where to find it near Pererenan.
Pererenan's beach break is forgiving enough for intermediates but consistent enough to keep experienced surfers coming back. Here is what to know before you paddle out — tides, board hire, and the best hours to go.
